Fall Loving Beach Bums Fall is our favorite time Fall Loving Beach Bums

Fall is our favorite time to visit the Delaware Beaches and get our dose of salty air and sand castles:

🐬The crowds disappear and beach house rentals are available and affordable.

🐬You can find free parking at a lot of beach accesses

🐬Your furry beach bum is welcome off-season on a lot of beaches.

And my favorite advantage of fall at the beach:
🐬no tip-toeing over burning hot sand

Soak up the warmth of the last sunny November days before the days get colder and shorter!

5 reasons to visit Costa Rica this summer (in Rain 5 reasons to visit Costa Rica this summer (in Rainy Season)! [💾 for your next trip!]

⛅It’s not that rainy after all
The weather forecast for ‘Costa Rica’ predicts rain every day between May and November. Truth is - it’s probably raining every day, but only in periodic showers in the afternoon. The predictable afternoon rain showers are the perfect time to rest or discover a new café.

💚 It’s Spectacularly Beautiful
Costa Rica’s rainy season is also called ‘green season’. It's a force of nature, turning the country into every shade of emerald, olive and jade. Shortly after flowers start coloring the landscapes. It’s stunning!

💰 Prices Dip (and So Do the Crowds)
Prices are about 15-25% lower.

Green season is considered Costa Rica’s off-season. Naturally, you will combat fewer crowds.

Reservations will be easier to come by and you’ll get a more private experience.

🌞It’s Sun Season in Certain Areas
Costa Rica has many microclimates:

Arenal’s dry season is between May-October and the Caribbean side of Costa Rica sees most of its sun in September and October!

🪣 Your Bucket List items may be Rainy Season-Only:
You can only experience a list of ‘must-see’ and ‘must-do’s during the rainy season.

Wildlife if directly connected to its habitat. If nature awakes and flourishes, so does wildlife.

🐢During September – November, you can witness the largest mass sea turtle nesting events on the Pacific
coast (locally also known as arribadas).

🐋Additionally, the best humpback whale watching months are August and September.

🛶 If you are into rafting, rainy season directly translates into more fun.

🐠In the Caribbean, snorkeling the living reefs are better, since less rain on this side equates to better visibility.

Do you love spending your summer in the outdoors? Do you love spending your summer in the outdoors?

After 5 years and more than 20 U.S. National Parks with our little ones, we want to share our ‘best day itineraries for little kids’ with you!

We’ll start with Acadia National Park!

You can easily spend 3 full days in the park – but if you want to pack the best of the best for little kids in
one day – this is it:

🌄Have an early start and reserve your Cadillac Mountain access ticket. Bring a breakfast picnic and eat your
sandwiches with a magnificent view over the bay.

🥾Head over to Jordan Pond (it’s a 20 minutes drive).
The 3.1 mile loop around Jordan Pond is one of our favorite hikes for little kids. There are boardwalks and some rocks to climb over, but the hike is flat and easy to moderate the entire time. Halfway is a great resting area on the lake shore. Arrive early to beat the crowds.

🍨Enjoy a lunch and freshly baked popovers - Jordan Pond House’s specialty.
❗Tip: If it’s ‘bee season’ and you don’t want to share your sweet deserts with the bees, choose indoor seating.

💦Head over to Echo Lake Beach for a refreshing splash into calm and shallow lake water! It’s a 45 minute drive, which is perfect for kids that are still napping after lunch.

🦀 Time for tidepools! Drive to the Wonderland or the Ship Harbor trails. Both are short 1-2 mile hikes and lead to wonderful tide pools. Time your visit close to low tide, and possibly golden hour - you’ll have a magical experience.

🍲After a long and action packed day, stop at Southwest Harbor, just 10 minutes away from the tide pools.
Our favorite restaurant is Harbor Table. It’s on the more expensive side, but the food and drinks are simply amazing. Their cute backyard is packed with board games, string lights and plenty of space for the kids to move around or dance to music.

Have you visited Acadia? What’s your favorite part of this beautiful park?
